ScoutOP (Tanmay Singh): India’s Biggest BGMI Star Is Now in the Bigg Boss 20 House

Tanmay Singh, known across India’s gaming community as ScoutOP, walked into the Bigg Boss 20 house on September 6, 2026, and became the first mainstream esports personality to enter the franchise. For millions of people who grew up watching him dominate PUBG Mobile lobbies and build one of India’s most-followed gaming channels, it was a surreal moment. For viewers who had never heard of BGMI, it was an introduction to a world that has quietly grown into one of India’s biggest entertainment ecosystems.

Who Is ScoutOP?

ScoutOP is the gaming alias of Tanmay Singh, a professional esports player, content creator, and co-founder of Team XSpark. Born on July 30, 1996, in Valsad, Gujarat, he is widely regarded as one of the most technically skilled and strategically sharp players in Indian battle royale gaming. He rose to prominence through PUBG Mobile before becoming one of the most recognisable faces of India’s BGMI scene.

How Old Is ScoutOP?

ScoutOP, whose real name is Tanmay Singh, is 30 years old as of October 2026. He was born on 30 July 1996 in Valsad, Gujarat.

Background: From Football to Gaming

Scout was a promising athlete, but his career was cut short due to a football injury. That setback redirected him toward gaming. He initially competed in CS:GO before the mobile battle royale wave arrived in India. He switched to PUBG Mobile in 2018, joining Team IND and later Fnatic. He never looked back.

Esports Career

He is credited for popularising claw controls in India and gyroscope use for precise sprays, innovations that became standard across the competitive BGMI scene. His style as an in-game leader combined aggressive entry fragging with strong positional and weapon discipline, making him one of the most complete players Indian mobile esports has produced.

His biggest international moment came with Orange Rock. The team finished second in the PUBG Mobile World League 2020 East, which remains the highest accomplishment by any Indian team during the PUBG Mobile era. He also set an individual record while playing for Fnatic in PEC (a China-based tournament), getting the highest number of finishes by a non-Chinese player, a record that remains unbroken in India.

His team journey over the years included stints at Team IND, Team SouL, Fnatic, and Orange Rock, among other associations. After PUBG Mobile was banned in India and BGMI launched as its replacement in 2021, Scout remained active across the new ecosystem.

Team XSpark and Revenant XSpark

ScoutOP is the co-founder of BGMI organisation Team XSpark, who won the BGIS 2024 in Hyderabad. That title was the clearest proof that his system and vision for team-building worked. In November 2024, Revenant Esports and Team XSpark merged, with Singh as brand ambassador. As of 2026, he holds the role of co-founder and brand ambassador of Revenant XSpark while continuing to be involved in competitive play through Quantum Sparks.

Retirement, Return, and Bigg Boss 20

Scout announced his retirement from competitive gaming in September 2025. However, he returned to competitive play in 2026, once again becoming part of the active BGMI esports ecosystem.

His entry into Bigg Boss 20 on September 6, 2026, added a new dimension to his public profile. During the season premiere, he revealed to host Salman Khan that his digital content, gaming streams, and business ventures yield a monthly income of approximately INR 30 lakh. ScoutOP’s Bigg Boss entry represents something bigger than just another celebrity joining the reality show. For years, gaming and esports personalities have built enormous audiences online without receiving the same mainstream visibility as television and film stars. His entry bridges that gap in a visible, primetime way.

Bigg Boss 20 So Far (as of 27 October)

ScoutOP was directly nominated in Week 2, along with Aasif Khan and Rohed Khan, after Bigg Boss caught the housemates discussing nominations. On October 15 he became house captain, as the last housemate left after the former captains knocked out eight names, and he held the role until Mahhi Vij took over on October 23. As captain he directly nominated Uditi Singh for Week 7, according to WION and India TV.

At the October 17 and 18 Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan questioned Qazi Touqeer over his behaviour towards Scout and urged Scout to stand up for himself, according to Glamsham. A week later the focus moved to Scout’s own conduct.

What Happened Between ScoutOP, Love Gill and Kaashvi Hiranandani?

The row is about Scout’s closeness with fellow contestant Love Gill, a bond both have described as brother and sister. Guest host Rohit Shetty questioned it at the October 24 and 25 Weekend Ka Vaar after clips showed Scout massaging Love’s hands, legs and neck, according to Outlook India.

On October 25, Kaashvi Hiranandani, whom India.com describes as his girlfriend, came into the house and told him the closeness made her uncomfortable. She accused Love of manipulating him and asked him to keep his distance. In Belloria’s own viewing of episode 50, Scout told her he would change and that he loved her, and he did not defend Love in that conversation.

Love Gill’s team said afterwards that she had always called Scout a brother and did not return the feelings he later confessed, according to India.com. Kaashvi apologised on October 26 for remarks she described as insensitive towards others involved. In the Week 8 nomination task Scout is one of six nominated housemates, with Gullu, Kanika Mann, Aasif Khan, Love Gill and Amrapali Dubey, according to BB Tak as carried by India.com and Filmibeat, and IndiaForums reports that he nominated Love. Love’s side of the story is on her profile, and the full weekend is on the Bigg Boss 20 contestant list and season tracker.
