Tom Holland has a reputation for being unable to keep a secret. After Billy Elliot ended, Holland voiced a role in the British dub of the animated film Arrietty (2011) and sent an audition tape to director J. A. Bayona for The Impossible. Trying to be more than the suit (2020 to 2024)
Between Spider-Man films, Holland kept choosing material that looked nothing like Peter Parker. In The Devil All the Time (Netflix, 2020) he played a young orphan who goes on a killing spree, and has said he initially worried he lacked the depth for it and that the part took a temporary toll on his mental health.
